Because we can't snack on Popchips alone, here are a few of my newest favorite crunchy snack items. Happy chewing!
Special K Crackers
The folks over at Special K must have been getting bored with cereal, because all of a sudden, they have a bazillion new products out. I love these new crackers, which come in Multi-Grain and Italian Tomato & Herb, packaged in 90-calorie snack packs or regular boxes. They’re a little on the sweet side (but in a good way), and the Italian Tomato & Herb ones taste like pizza. Mmmmmm!
One serving of 17 crackers has 90 calories, 2g fat, 1 - 2g fiber and a
POINTS® value of 2.
Kettle Brand Baked Potato Chips
If someone fed these to you in a blind taste test, you’d swear they were fried. Yeah, these chips are good.
Really good. If you need serious crunchitude and crave authentic potato chip flavor, try these. Available in Lightly Salted, Hickory Honey Barbecue, Aged White Cheddar, and the all-new Sea Salt & Vinegar.
One serving of about 20 - 23 chips has 120 calories, 3g fat, 2g fiber and a
POINTS value of 2.
Crunchmaster Sesame Rice Crackers
These are really good for a snack food that sounds like it was named after the guy hosting your workout video. And really, if you call yourself “Crunchmaster”, you better bring it. These are super-delicious snack crackers and they're amazingly delicious when paired with a spreadable wedge of The Laughing Cow Light Original Swiss Cheese. And there are 16 crackers in each serving. Sweet! Pssst... these come in a slew of great flavors and while many of the flavors aren't all that new, I wanted to give these crackers a shout out!
One serving of 16 crackers has 130 calories, 2g fat, 1g fiber and a
POINTS value of 3.
Buffalo Nickel Wingers
These little guys are shaped like (aww!) little chicken drummies and come in crazy flavors (with various heat levels!) like No Bull Barbeque, Honey Mustard Horsepower, Nacho Chilichanga, Caribbean Zing, and Fiery Buffalo Bleu. You can’t get ‘em everywhere, but Cost Plus, Whole Foods, Duane Reade, and some health food stores have started carrying them. If all else fails, check Amazon.com.
One serving of 25 Wingers has 120 calories, 4g fat, 1g fiber and a
POINTS value of 3.
Portion-Controlled Quaker Quakes Rice Snacks
Ever accidentally found yourself inhaling the entire multi-serving bag of Quaker Quakes in one sitting? Yep, me too. That's why I was very excited to see these new portion-controlled versions. Score! Pick some up in Caramel Corn, Cheddar Cheese, or both. Just don’t eat a bunch of little bags at a time. (Kinda defeats the purpose...)
One small bag has 90 - 100 calories, 0.5 - 3g fat, 0g fiber and a
POINTS value of 2.
